 Getting Ready For Agility

Prerequisite for attending class: Successful completion of a group obedience class.  Your dog needs to be comfortable working around other dogs on leash and have basic obedience skills.

Class description: This 6 week class (1st class no dogs)  will cover clicker training basics, motivation and self control games, agility flatwork, how to stay connected as a dog-handler team, and behaviors that will get you and your dog ready for agility obstacles.

What to bring to class: A flat buckle collar and a 4-6 foot leather, cotton, or nylon leash.  Chain and retractable leashes are not allowed during training.  You will also need a variety of soft and tiny treats, and toys that your dog enjoys playing with.  Additionally you will need to bring a crate for your dog as he/she will be using it during class.  Don’t forget that this is an athletic activity so dress appropriately.  Be ready to have fun with your dog!

Note: Aggressive and/or reactive dogs are not appropriate for group classes.  If you are having difficulty with these issues I am can assist you with more suitable training options.
